Pack 580 – Space Regatta/Family Picnic

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Sunday, September 16^th, Pack 580 will be holding the Space Derby & Family Picnic at Hurless Barton Park in Yorba Linda.

 

** PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION CHANGE TO BARTON PARK **

 

Our location at the park will be near the back behind the amphitheater. Parking is at the community center and there is no charge for parking. The park is located on Casa Loma between the Community Center and the Tommy Lasorda Field House.

 

The Derby/Picnic will start at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. Pack 580 will be providing water and juice. There are some shaded areas at our location so an EZ-UP or other shelter is recommended.  You may also want to bring a blanket, towels, or chairs to sit on during this event.

 

Uniform for this event will be Pack t-shirt. There is a playground within walking distance from the event for siblings who are attending.

 

Here is the schedule planned for the event:

 

          10:00 – 12:00              Building & Decorating

          12:00 – 1:00                 BYO Picnic, Pack provided drinks

          1:00 – 3:00                   Space Derby Racing

          3:00 – 4:00                   Awards, clean-up, & departure

 

For those who did not get their space derby spacecraft already, they will be handed out at the regatta. For non-scouts who wish to participate, spacecraft can be obtained from Mr. Britton on the day of the event. Supplies to assemble & decorate will be available at the event.
